Terissa & Brent Adopt!

Thank you for taking time to read our letter. We admire your strength and courage to consider open adoption for your baby. Our child will always know they were adopted out of love. We are dedicated to the idea of open adoption and will respect your wishes for contact. We are excited to meet you and get to know you.

About Us
We have been together since we met 16 years ago and have been married for 13 years. We respect each other and have a wonderful relationship based on love and open communication. We’re each other’s best friends and can’t wait to be parents!

Brent and issa

We love nature and we regularly hike the nearby waterfalls and parks. We can’t wait to see the wonder in our child’s eyes when they see a water fall for the first time. We also love to spend time together at the beach. We look forward to long lazy days in the sun and picture little feet running through the waves. We love spending time together, and enjoy cooking. Often, we pull out favorite recipes from our childhood and spend the day cooking.

Our Home
We live in Charlotte, North Carolina and have a warm and friendly home. Our child will be able to see the sunrise through the pine trees and sugar maples from their room. We also have a large backyard with plenty of space for a sandbox and a swing-set.

There are lots of children who live on our street. They line up at the corner of our block with their parents to wait for the school bus in the morning. In the summers, children's voices echo as they play in the neighborhood’s pool and park. We can’t wait to see our child playing tag and swimming with the neighborhood children.

Our home is not complete without our Yorkshire Terriers, Loki and Anya. Loki is small, gentle and loves everyone. Anya is tiny, playful and likes snuggling. They are both wonderful with children.

About Brent (by Terissa)
Brent is the most amazing person! He makes me feel safe and loved. His values are important to him and he lives by them. I am lucky to be with him and treasure his friendship and love in my life. He’s wonderful with children and is going to be an awesome dad!

About Terissa (by Brent)
Terissa is my best friend and is a loving and loyal person. She is supportive to her friends and family. Terissa is easy to be around and puts people at ease. She has a wonderful sense of humor. I love watching how much joy she gets from spending time with our nieces and nephews. Terissa will be an amazing mom!

Our Work
Brent is a regional manager for a national plastics company. He has a flexible schedule and is looking forward to coaching our child’s baseball team. Terissa has a professional social services background where she was able to work with all sorts of families. She’s going to be a stay at home mom and can't wait for afternoons at the aquarium with our child!

Our Family
We’re originally from Illinois and visit our family several times a year. Brent’s parents are excited to be grandparents again, and are looking forward to teaching their grandchild to fish. Terissa’s family is delighted about the newest addition to the family. They’re excited we’re expanding our family and are looking forward to boating around Mountain Island Lake. We have several nieces and nephews, so our child will have 6 cousins to play hide-and-seek with!

Our Values
